Strategic Communications Manager - Web Properties

The Strategic Communications Manager - Web is responsible for executing corporate objectives via Verisign web properties. Working with cross-functional partners, this role will lead the development of compelling web content, providing editorial oversight, managing review processes, and offering web communications expertise in support of Verisign’s strategic efforts. This role will serve as a liaison between business customers, web producers, designers, developers, and data analysts. S/he will unify goals and identify problems, align on expectations, and provide creative editorial solutions that drive innovation and transformation. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong mix of creative, analytical, and collaborative skills. This position requires strong writing and editing abilities, attention to detail as well as robust project management capabilities.

Responsibilities
•    Manage the development, editing, review, and implementation of content across all Verisign web properties, ensuring alignment with corporate messaging and brand consistency as well as oversight and governance of all site content.
•    Work with strategic communications leadership and business content stakeholders to define vision and strategic roadmap for Verisign web properties. Use knowledge of web best practices, trends, and standards to help lead web strategy.
•    Translate content stakeholders’ needs into business requirements, prioritize web requests, define milestones, track progress, and lead cross-project, cross-team dependencies to meet team-wide delivery goals.
•    Serve as liaison between business owners, web designers, developers and analytics teams for updates, enhancements, and audits to Verisign web properties.
•    Work with analytics and web production teams to analyze and interpret website performance metrics, suggesting opportunities for ongoing optimization and user experience improvements. Help to clearly present data-informed insights in front of content stakeholders.
•    Collaborate with marketing team on SEO strategy for Verisign web properties.
•    Works closely with the Director of Strategic Communications on ongoing digital media and web projects.

Qualifications
•    5+ years related experience managing web content development, writing, and/or editing.
•    4-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Communications, Digital Media, Marketing, or a related field
•    Excellent writing, proofreading and copyediting skills.
•    Knowledge in web CMS tools (Netlify, WordPress, etc.) and web analytics (Adobe Analytics).
•    Knowledge of SEO best practices and website accessibility. 
•    Excellent project management skills, including experience with agile principles and teams and project management software (JIRA, Confluence Wiki).
•    Flexible team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities, both long- and short-term.
•    Strong interpersonal, collaborative and customer service skills with a proven ability to build relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.
•    Results-oriented with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
