Strategic Customer Solutions Architect

This is a senior, hands-on technical advisory role focused on supporting enterprise customers running mission-critical workloads on Postgres at scale. You will act as a trusted architecture partner, helping organizations design, optimize, and stabilize high-performance systems built on a modern backend platform. The role combines deep database expertise with strategic customer engagement, requiring you to work closely with CTOs, engineering leaders, and technical teams to translate complex needs into scalable solutions. You will also guide large-scale migrations, performance tuning efforts, and enterprise-grade deployments across diverse environments. Operating at the intersection of engineering, product, and customer success, you will influence both customer outcomes and internal product evolution. This is a highly impactful role where technical depth and strong communication skills directly shape customer success at scale.

In this role, you will own strategic technical relationships with enterprise customers, ensuring they successfully design, scale, and optimize their Postgres-based systems. You will act as a hands-on advisor across architecture, performance, security, and migration challenges while driving long-term customer value.

• Build and maintain deep technical relationships with enterprise stakeholders and executive sponsors
• Design account strategies that align platform capabilities with customer business and technical goals
• Lead performance tuning, scalability improvements, and reliability optimization for production systems
• Serve as a Postgres expert, advising on schema design, indexing, query optimization, and system architecture
• Guide large-scale database migrations from legacy and cloud-native systems to Postgres-based architectures
• Support enterprise security and compliance requirements, including RLS, SOC 2, HIPAA, and encryption standards
• Advise on AI and vector-based workloads, including embedding pipelines and similarity search architectures
• Act as a customer advocate, feeding insights back into product and engineering teams
• Partner with sales and growth teams on pre-sales discovery and technical validation for complex deals

Requirements

This role requires deep expertise in Postgres and distributed systems, combined with strong customer-facing experience in complex enterprise environments. You should be comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on technical levels, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

• 10+ years of experience in solutions architecture, database engineering, or related technical roles
• Expert-level knowledge of PostgreSQL, including performance tuning, internals, and schema design
• Proven experience leading complex database migrations across heterogeneous systems (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Firebase, etc.)
• Strong experience supporting high-scale, high-availability production systems
• Solid understanding of enterprise security, compliance, and governance requirements
• Familiarity with AI-native architectures, vector databases, and embedding workflows (e.g., pgvector)
• Strong background in web application and backend development (Python, C#, Node.js, or similar)
• Experience engaging with executive stakeholders in complex, multi-organization environments
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for business audiences
