Strategic Finance Analyst

Job Summary:  

As the Strategic Finance Analyst for Ruggable’s Finance team, you will play a critical role in developing performance visibility and enabling change management through strategic analysis. The position will act as a thought partner to the various operating functions at Ruggable, providing business support and driving ad-hoc projects.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide business support and guidance to cross-functional partners through actionable quantitative insights and the communication of findings
• Develop financial models and tools to support business decisions, understand performance of products and business units, and explore the financial impacts of potential initiatives
• Generate ad-hoc analyses to ensure data-driven decision-making is supported across Ops, Product, Marketing, and Finance
• Maintain end-to-end ownership of projects (i.e., scoping, data collection, analysis, presentation, iteration, etc.)
• Identify and analyze financial variances and provide an impactful explanation; be capable of communicating key messages to management
• Propose resolutions to complex or ambiguous problems, identify and proactively pursue areas for process improvement

What You’ll Need to Have:

Required: 

• 1-3 years of experience working in finance business support roles (ideally a high-growth start-up) or on finance-related projects in management consulting or investment banking
• Expert proficiency in Google Sheets and Slides or Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint 
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, as well as sound business judgment
• Track record of turning ambiguous questions or requests into meaningful analysis, presenting to business partners, and driving value for the organization
• Excellent written and verbal communication with impeccable attention to detail
• Ability to develop appropriate solutions and think critically in a proactive and timely manner
• Local to the LA area to be onsite 2-3 days a week

Preferred: 

• Experience communicating and presenting to senior leadership
• Experience modeling financials for consumer products or e-commerce brands
• Intermediate experience with SQL, Python, and Alteryx
• Competency with data visualization or business intelligence tools (Looker, Tableau, etc.)
• Curiosity to learn about different operating functions and challenge the status quo
• Excitement for start-ups and building from the ground up

Compensation:

• $85,000 - $95,000 per year base salary
• An annual bonus percentage that varies based on level of role
• Employer matching (up to 3% of base salary) for company sponsored 401K plan
