Strategic Finance Associate

THE ROLE

We are looking for a Strategic Finance Associate reporting to the Head of Finance & Operations. In this role you will support financial decision-making and business planning to enable the continued growth and success of Messari. You will engage cross-functionally across the Product Research Marketing Sales and Operations teams to extract financial insights and develop strategic recommendations for Messari’s leadership. From traditional finance projects to getting into the weeds of on-chain participation this role is anything but a standard SaaS finance role. Crypto experience is not mandatory but interest and excitement in the space is!

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Ownership of a comprehensive financial model marrying a top-down drivers-based revenue model with a bottom-up budget build informed by close collaboration across the business

• Provide best-in-class financial partnership by working closely with teams across the company to assist with various high-impact initiatives (i.e. pricing strategy resource planning business development etc.)

• Support Messari’s treasury strategy to include token holdings and high-yield opportunities

• Prepare and support analysis of financial statements and KPIs on a monthly and quarterly basis for use by company leadership and Board of Directors meetings

• Conduct ad hoc analyses as required

WHO YOU ARE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance Accounting Economics or a related field

• 2+ years of relevant experience in Investment Banking Strategy Consulting or at a high-growth venture-backed startup

• Demonstrated interest in the crypto industry and desire to explore how it can impact corporate finance functions

• Excel is a second language

• Data-driven decision maker who can support any argument with an array of data and complex understanding of the business

• Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate present and debate complex problems

• A team player but independent and self-motivated

• Self-starter who can take loose instruction and lead the process and deliverables from start to finish

NICE TO HAVES:

• Personal or professional experience within the crypto ecosystem

• SQL proficiency

Salary Ranges for this position (depending upon experience): $120000 - $150000
