Overview of the Strategic Finance Associate

This role will be an integral part of Wayspring's new and multi-dimensional Strategic Finance team. Responsibilities will include working across departments to help build reporting infrastructure, digging into operational KPIs, partnering with the Growth team to analyze new business opportunities, and evaluating internal strategic initiatives from a financial lens. The individual should be a highly motivated self-starter who is comfortable taking ownership of projects at a fast-paced and rapidly growing company. This position will report to the Director of Strategic Finance.

The role will provide growth opportunities for personal and career development including regular interaction with the CFO, as well as significant exposure to executive leadership, board, and investors. While the individual will work primarily within the Strategic Finance team, the role will interface directly with key business functions including Market Operations, Clinical Operations, Accounting, Growth, and M&A.

Responsibilities of the Strategic Finance Associate

• Perform detailed financial analysis and concisely communicate results to management
• Support the annual budgeting and quarterly re-forecasting process
• Partner with functional leads to execute standardized reporting and drive accountability
• Assist in preparation of materials for key stakeholders including management, board, and investors
• Partner with business development team to evaluate potential expansion opportunities
• Support future capital raises and M&A processes

Requirements

• Ideal candidate has 1-3 years of work experience in investment banking, corporate M&A, consulting, or other comparable setting
• Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills, including a mastery of Excel and PowerPoint
• Must be energetic, highly motivated, and able to manage projects independently
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work on multiple, competing priorities
• Excited by the idea of building the finance infrastructure and strategy of a fast-growing, complex company
