We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a HS Strategic Initiative Director on our Health Solutions team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 2 days a week in the office.

As a Strategic Initiative Director, lead the market research, strategic planning, and opportunity assessment for AMA's Health Solutions Portfolio. Based on emerging industry trends identify new markets, new products, and product line extensions that will enhance Health Solutions' offerings to the market. Develop business and financial models based on credible assumptions to generate business case for action. Develop and recommend strategy and actionable plans for new product launch and new market entry with a particular focus on Go-To-Market strategy and validation. Champion new initiatives and seeks out opportunities to optimize organizational processes to help the AMA meet its goals and objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

Go-To-Market Strategy and Planning

• Work closely with product development to develop and present business cases to justify investment in new products and solutions.

• Responsible for researching, evaluating, modeling, and defining the go-to-market strategy for new products and solutions.

• Understand the potential sales channels, conflicts, risks, and opportunities to facilitate and drive adoption and revenue generation.

• Develop and maintain a clear roadmap for each new product launch including strategic alignment and timelines and implementing project plans

• Collaborate with Health Solutions product, sales, marketing, and operations leaders to understand current state future state and determine efficient and effective models to implement new initiatives to support the future state.

• Collaborate with HS finance team to review and validate the Pricing Models for new initiatives.

• Advise team on product planning activities and provide direction and drive the delivery of strategic plan through an inclusive strategic planning process.

Strategic Market Development, Planning, and Guidance

• Work with the SVP, HS, and VP Operations to facilitate the strategic product planning process, with an emphasis on supporting the vision and growth initiatives in HS and project prioritization.

• Monitor emerging healthcare trends in alignment with core HS strengths and provide insight and guidance on the risk, impact, and opportunity to HS.

• In collaboration with other HS leaders, define potential audiences and personas to drive value-based messaging and target audiences.

• Ascertain market needs, validate key assumptions, and evaluate customer feedback.

• Assimilate customer and market intelligence, and product strategies and goals into clear market segment strategies.

• Collaborate with Product Development team messaging and positioning, while executing strategies and guide product management practices.

• Provide overall product vision, product, and market strategies.

• Provide conceptualization and product planning and feasibility studies for new products to be launched.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Bachelor's degree in health-related field or business required.

2. 10 years' experience in working in a strategy, market research, product management, or equivalent role for a solution provider focused on physician data, medical coding, billing, or terminology.

3. 3+ years' experience in Strategy, Market Research, Product Management, or Product Marketing: experience implementing business process/scaling operations in product management or product marketing preferred.

4. 3+ years' experience managing professional staff preferred.

5. Experience in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment that favors decisive action; takes initiative and assumes additional responsibility without being asked.

6. Strong business acumen to convey recommendations and influence leadership. Excellent data synthesis skills to critically analyze and interpret market research and other data, cultivate insights, and apply those insights to develop business cases and plans.

7. Strong oral and written communications skills; able to express complex business concepts effectively. Strong presentation skills required to evangelize products in the marketplace. Prepares written professional documents.

8. Demonstrated ability to identify nuances of markets/segments and identify how those distinctions create risks and opportunities for our solutions.

9. Proactively initiates, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external team members to achieve results. Must be able to quickly secure the trust of business stakeholders.

10. Works well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience and can influence a team toward a direction or recommendation based on data and insights.

11. Able to work long hours, when necessary, attend educational events, and meet with vendors and high-level business leaders.

12. AMA's safety and policy protocols require proof of full vaccination against COVID19 for employment at AMA (including booster when eligible). Employees may apply for a religious or medical exemption from getting the vaccine.
