Strategic Investments Investor Relations Associate

SUMMARY

The Strategic Investments Group (“SIG”) is a multi-strategy investment team within GCM Grosvenor that invests across asset classes, security types, industries and regions and maintains the flexibility to implement investments both directly and alongside third-party partners.  The group manages $6bn of AUM across three types of vehicles: an evergreen, opportunistic multi-strategy fund, three vintages of multi-asset class closed-end funds, and multiple credit-focused funds.  The platform is growing and serves a large, global client base of institutional investors.

The Associate will report to the SIG COO and will be the lead Investor Relations professional for the Group involved in all aspects of client service, marketing, and business development.  The Associate will also support operational workflows that enable the Group’s investment activity.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Engaging with SIG clients to provide periodic updates on performance, investment activity, portfolio exposure, and market outlook.
• Managing and completing recurring and ad hoc deliverables and other client requests.
• Serve as a key point person and liaison between SIG and key stakeholders across the firm in Marketing, Business Development, Portfolio Management, Finance, Legal, and across the other investment verticals.
• Assist in the development of marketing strategy, key messaging, and the creation of supporting collateral.
• Active participation in the preparation for and solicitation of new clients and business with the opportunity to gain more responsibility for business development over time.
• Coordinate SIG participation in GCM-hosted events and industry conferences.
• Support the Group Head on special projects and assignments.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• 2-5 years of total work experience, ideally in the finance or consulting industries
• Bachelor’s degree with a strong record of academic success is required.
• Superior qualities of persistence and politeness as well as excellent client relationship management skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as a productive collaborative member of a team.
• Ability to balance multiple concurrent projects.
• Outstanding verbal and written communications skills.
• Outstanding organization, decision making and problem-solving skills.
• Entrepreneurial attitude and ability to advance work product independently.
