We are looking for a Stategic Pricing Analyst to support the Worldwide Compute Business. In this role you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on business performance playing an integral role in determining the global pricing strategy for hardware, software, services and support for a $10B global IT business. This role is a Teleworker position. (Remote)

Job Family Definition:

Defines, develops, evaluates and oversees the implementation of pricing models and strategies designed to optimize revenue, market share, brand positioning and long-term profits. Partners with Sales/Marketing, Business Development, Finance and other key stakeholders to correctly position product portfolio and establish pricing programs aligned with product/sales strategy and revenue recognition requirements. Prioritizes and delivers on opportunities to monetize products offered initially at little to no cost, or to implement upsell opportunities as products are repositioned in the marketplace. Monitors the ongoing business environment to ensure competitive pricing/market position and directs the development and analysis of pricing models and projections. Oversees the implementation of pricing proposals across the organization.

Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Acts as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies. Frequently represents the organization to external customers/clients. Exercises significant independent judgment to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. May provide mentoring and guidance to lower level employees.

Responsibilities:

• Partner across multiple organizations including product management, Finance, sales, supply chain, marketing, and competitive intelligence to define the overall list price strategy for specific software, hardware, support, and as-a-service (aaS) offerings.
• Perform detailed financial analysis in support of strategic recommendations.
• Provide insight on competitive pricing strategies and positioning that allows HPE to drive a winning strategy in the marketplace.
• Monitor the competitive landscape and perform competitive analysis to ensure strategies are on track.
• Track both short- and long-term tech commodity market forecasts and quantify the "commodity risk" impacts to the portfolio.
• Determines the appropriate KPI measurements and drives the review process (weekly, monthly, and long term) by analyzing trends within the business and ensuring alignment with business- and corporate-wide strategic objectives.
• Execute, maintain and/or reassess the defined strategies as appropriate throughout the offering life cycle (New product introduction through End of Life).
• Prepare executive summaries for strategic pricing recommendations and present those findings to executive review board for approval.
• Identifies opportunities for process improvement and policy development and engages in the design.
• Represents the business unit during cross-regional or cross- functional planning processes.

Education and Experience Required:

• BS Degree required; advanced degree preferred
• 5+ years of experience in a strategic finance role within the technology industry. Preferably in a Pricing or FP&A capacity.
• As-a-Service (aaS) pricing experience is a plus.

• Excellent understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis, with advanced knowledge in one area.
