A Strategic Pricing Lead works to develop pricing strategies across the Labcorp Periapproval and Commercialization business. This position can involve client facing responsibilities and requires collaboration with Sales, Finance, Contracts, and Operational groups based upon client requests. This position requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and ability to partner effectively with internal stakeholders and clients.
We are looking for an individual with a Commercial and/or CRO background to join our team and to work alongside our highly successful and dynamic Commercial Development team with colleagues located across the EU, US and Asia Pacific. You would be working with stakeholders from across the Periapproval and Commercialization organization in a matrixed environment and driving strategic competitiveness in the marketplace through price performance. Big picture thinking and a 'gets it done' mentality are key attributes needed for this role where the individual will be required support new and existing business by partnering with Commercial and Operational leadership to drive growth in the market. The Commercial Development team is a key part of the client journey, being involved from contract terms negotiation to pricing strategy, and touches every part of the Periapproval and Commercialization business, resulting in a highly varied and influential role.
This is a remote based role in the US.
Duties -
- Creation of assigned budgets including use of the proper rate card, inflation, currency exchange and other Master Service Agreement terms
- Strategic review and challenge of budgets prior to and during Challenge Call for assigned budgets
- Attend and participate in internal review and prep meetings (Strategy calls, Challenge Calls, Bid Defense prep, Commercial Prep, etc.)
- Liaise with respective support/specialty functions across Labcorp to facilitate consolidation of budget components
- Conduct ad hoc analysis of feasibility / profitability of implementing vendor/technological solutions on existing procedures
- Develop and negotiate commercial terms strategies (bonus / penalty, inflation concessions, etc.)
- Participate in and support pan-Commercial Solutions initiatives as assigned
- Develop presentations for Deal Review / Executive Sign-off calls as necessary
- Attend customer meetings, as applicable
- Other duties as assigned
Experience -
- Applicable minimum years of experience in budget and/or text development, or an equivalent combination of education and CRO/pharma/other related experience to successfully perform the essential job duties
- Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail and ability to be persistent while maintaining tact
- Demonstrated computer skills - requires excellent MS Office experience (specifically Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Knowledge of proposal management software applications (e.g., Salesforce.com, Qvidian, Proposal Automation applications) is preferred
- Demonstrated text editing and writing skills (based on business unit and/or team expectations)
- Demonstrated ability to plan, multi-task and prioritize
- Demonstrated teamwork, communication (written and verbal), and organizational skills
- Proven ability to work independently
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with internal stakeholders, clients and Labcorp senior management
- Positive attitude and sense of urgency
- Ability to work across Labcorp Business Units
- Ability to provide limited team management activities
- Ability to work irregular and/or extended hours as needed to meet the client's proposal deadline
