How You Will Support Our Team
The Strategic Presale Content Manager will be focused on writing, editing and managing our library of sales positioning information used throughout the request for proposal and quoting process. Working in close partnership with our broader Group Benefits marketing team, this individual will craft simple, easy-to-understand responses that can be used to strategically differentiate our value proposition for brokers and employers. This role will also partner with cross-functional teams of subject matter experts across operations, product, sales, service and technology to best represent benefits available from The Hartford.
Our ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills and a sales-oriented mindset to successfully pivot between assignments in a fast-paced environment. This role will report to the Director of our Sales Enablement Marketing center of excellence.

Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$76,720 - $115,080

Role Expectations
- Own the writing, editing, and management of presale cover letters, executive summary documents, quote templates and approximately 3,000 question and answer pairs
- Build a strong understanding of Group Benefits capabilities and the unique needs of our brokers and employer customers, using that to apply plain, inclusive language to our content
- Partner with cross-functional partners on development and inclusion of compelling market-facing messaging within presale opportunities
- Ensure a unified, on-brand message carries throughout key presale touchpoints
- Lead discussions and coach business partners on both process and strategy pertaining to maintenance of the presale content library
- Maintain proactive and effective communication regarding updates, enhancements and launches
- Participate in the writing community of practice to help align with best practices and brand standards
- Work well under pressure and within deadlines
- Provide high level of quality assurance on all deliverables
Skills and Experience Needed
Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements:
- 5+ years of presale/RFP writing, content marketing, or relevant experience, such as sales
- Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field, such as communications, advertising, PR, journalism
- Strong project management skills, prioritization and organizational skills
- Technologically savvy team player who can work effectively with business partners and across teams
- Ability to work independently yet collaboratively
- Highly developed communication, consultative, and interpersonal skills
- Strong sense of urgency and the ability to embrace and maximize a changing landscape
- Effective verbal and written communication that caters to all levels of the organization, including senior management
- Critical thinker, able to learn from and apply best practices from previous initiatives
- Possess and maintain a holistic view of the organization through communication and collaboration
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Experience using Qvidian preferred, experience with Workfront is a plus
