Job Summary:
This position is responsible for leading the data management and quantitative analyses of sourcing activities within the Strategic Sourcing Organization. The Analyst leads the construction of Sourcing management databases and information warehousing for the key commodity categories that he/she is assigned to. The Analyst must be fully informed of the strategic sourcing process as they will be required to work on complex problems requiring the creation of analytical tools, data analysis and recommendations/solutions to problems. Highly desirable skillset/experience using Power BI and Microsoft Power Platform to create these new tools/solutions. These solutions will include creating, documenting, and delivering repeatable processes for ongoing reporting to stakeholders. The Analyst will need to manage multiple priorities to meet reporting timelines.

The Analyst will need to manage multiple priorities to meet reporting timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create insightful data for stakeholders. The analyst leads the process design for the collection and analyses of global spend data for assigned commodities / services. Maintains and constructs the ongoing analyses of a deep fact base for purchased commodities / services. Designs, conducts and synthesizes insightful industry and market research for assigned commodities to help develop sourcing strategy.
- Develop an expertise in the strategic sourcing process. The analyst leads / participates in the sourcing strategy formulation, supplier selection and supplier management process. Teams with Commodity Project Managers / Subject Matter Experts (engineering, marketing, quality, etc.) to create commodity / services sourcing strategies, coordinates requests for quotation (RFQ), creates and administers negotiation tools and processes for sourcing activities, prepares fact base for supplier negotiations and business reviews as well as business unit commodity teams. Analyzes past spend as well as forecasts spend and savings by commodity/business units/locations.
- Sourcing review database. The analyst creates and retains an exit package of all pertinent documentation created during the sourcing review as required by the Strategic Sourcing Organization (SSO) policies and procedures. Participates in negotiations with suppliers during the sourcing review. Analyzes and reports on supplier performance metrics and conducts benchmarking studies.
- Understanding of supply chain and TCO reduction opportunities. The analyst should be conversant with the different supply chain models. The analyst participates in internal and joint supplier/unit teams pursuing TCO reduction opportunities in alignment with the Sourcing strategy (e.g. lowering inventory levels, increasing yields, improving supplier operations, demand management etc.).
- Sourcing Process Improvement. The analyst standardizes existing strategic sourcing systems and processes of data collection, analyses, warehousing, data management, etc. and makes the process more efficient. The analyst can create tools which integrate data into new procurement tools, like web procurement, into the sourcing process. This includes the modernization of data and existing tools into more efficient and user-friendly programs. The analyst will document and roll out new processes to the Strategic Sourcing Organization.
- Ensures thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or other relevant field
- Typically requires 2+ years of professional experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain, or relevant analytical field
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills required. Must be able to manipulate data, summarize findings, and investigate root cause
- Experience working on highly complex problems requiring the creation of analytical tools, data analysis and providing recommendations and solutions to the problem
- Capability to design and apply new standard processes
- ERP/MRP systems knowledge (SAP preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and other analytical reporting and database related tools (Power Query, PowerBI, SQL Servers).
- Established experience sourcing and supply chain management
- Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate to management, suppliers, and key stakeholders
- Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks with high degree of accuracy and detail
- Analytical experience combining multiple large datasets into a comprehensive solution. This would ideally contain expertise in Power Query, Power BI, Azure, SQL, or other mass data combination tools outside of Excel
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform with emphasis on Power BI (Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI)
- Experience with creating/updating processes and the change management associated with implementing the new process in a large organization
