The Strategic Sourcing and Vendor Performance Director is responsible for the sourcing, performance, and continuous improvement of assigned Tier 1 supply partners in support of corporate goals and objectives. This position will work closely with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities to optimize the overall performance of the of, but not limited to, Tier 1 IT managed service and strategic vendor partners, including vendor risk mitigation, cost reduction, supplier quality, and delivery.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Establish Tier 1 vendor governance in accordance with vendor management playbook
  • Conduct business reviews with key strategic suppliers, with an emphasis on business and IT supplier improvement and performance and annual strategy reviews with senior leadership
  • Administer and collaborate supplier scorecard process
  • Maintain accurate status, reporting and health of vendor performance.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to ensure vendors meet or exceed contracted service commitments, measure performance against operational Service Level Agreements (SLA) and coordinate vendor activity to meet current and future operational requirements and project needs in alignment with, Business, IT and Corporate goals
  • Identify vendor risks and work to mitigate through the execution of strategic projects.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of all aspects of assigned vendor agreements
  • Work with suppliers on cost reduction strategies and contract optimization opportunities.
  • Track and communicate metrics related to supplier performance to all levels of the organization.
  • Negotiate cost pressure issues facing assigned suppliers.
  • Act as an escalation path for Procurement, IT, Lines of Business, or Operations as needed.
  • Determine, document and track action plans for vendors when required
  • Review and maintain capacity planning information for assigned suppliers.
  • Participate in vendor management lifecycle (identification, evaluation, selection, maintenance, termination) as required
  • On-board new suppliers through contract onboarding process and set-up proper contract governance and key milestone tracking.
  • Conduct routine supplier assessments to maintain current information.
  • Maintain and analyze key cost drivers for the organization.
  • Oversee long-term relationship with suppliers to identify growth opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain supplier contracts and legal documents.

Educational Requirements & Duties:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, IT, or related field and a minimum of seven (7) years of supplier management
  • Master's in Business Administration (MBA), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), or Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) certifications
  • Ability to cultivate strong working relationships with both internal and external contacts
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Self-motivated, energetic individual with a strong degree of intellectual curiosity
  • Any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background

Salary Band: 07B

This selected candidate will be expected to work remote in Indianapolis, IN.The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in CA, WI, IN or ME as business needs dictate or for team-building and collaboration.
