Job Description

About the Role: We are looking for a Strategic Sourcing Manager to join our team. In this role, you will lead a cross functional Category Team to ensure material and service availability, implement sourcing plans, own supplier performance management process for material and service suppliers. The primary responsibility is to ensure that R&D, manufacturing, and other internal stakeholders receive the maximum value from supplier engagements to meet our business objectives.

This is a remote position, and you can work from home in most locations within the United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Own supplier relationships by developing strong connections with supplier leaders and executives as well as rapport at all levels. Acts as internal point of escalation to supplier leadership and executives for supplier selection, business alignment, suppliers performance and problem solving
  • Own Supplier performance management including supplier business reviews, scorecards and compliance requirements
  • Utilize risk assessment tools and mitigation strategies to minimize impact of supply chain disruptions, geopolitical events or other external factors
  • Facilitates market intelligence to understand external industry trends, the competitive environment and our internal performance to integrate benchmarking into sourcing strategies, supplier selection, negotiation plans, and other processes and/or decision making
  • Execute Supplier Recovery Plans including Product specialist for Patient Impact, KPI's, Enhanced Leadership communication
  • Partners with NPD Sourcing Specialists, Supplier Engineers, Technical, Quality and Finance Associates to develop and recommend sourcing strategies, make versus buy, supplier selection, contracting, strategy to action, and implementation of deliverables in alignment with Gore enterprise and MPD strategic direction
  • Identify ways to implement process improvements within the supply chain to streamline operations, reduce manual efforts and enhance efficiency (e.g. quality improvement, or technology integration
  • Ensure adequate contract coverage for critical components and/or suppliers (negotiating favorable contracts, avoiding price increases)
  • Enhance supply chain by adding diverse suppliers, ultimately contributing to the organization's commitment to diversity and social responsibility
  • Attend relevant conferences, workshops, trainings to stay updated on industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies within your category

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a supply chain, operations or a related field
  • Minimum 4 years in a supplier management role or related supply chain/procurement, experience
  • Leadership experience with Associates, cross-functional teams, cross-organizational teams, and small teams
  • Experience driving transformational change and successful track record of continuous improvements with suppliers
  • Demonstrated skills and experience with purchasing and contract negotiations across a diverse range of spend categories for materials and/or services
  • Demonstrated skills in critical thinking, problem solving, data analysis, and structured decision making
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly establish supplier expectations, fairly address performance issues and hold suppliers accountable
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic plans and successfully manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Ability to travel 20% domestically and internationally

Desired Qualifications:

  • MBA in Supply Chain or Finance
  • CPSM, CSCP, CPIM, CPM, SPSM or similar industry certification(s)
  • Experience in the medical device industry and with ERP and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems

Remote Working Arrangements are permitted for Associates in the continental United States (US) and Canada, with appropriate approval and compliance with Gore's remote working policies, from the country in which they are employed. For fully remote roles, the following locations are not eligible for new fully remote work arrangements: Alaska and Hawaii (for all roles), and Rhode Island (for wage/hourly roles only).
