Position Summary:
The Strategic Sourcing Manager has global responsibility for supplier selection and development, leading procurement sourcing strategies, commodity management and product development procurement for the Company with an annual spend of $100+ Million. Maximizes efficiency and profit contribution of the materials functions by lowering total materials costs and optimizing inventory levels. Cultivates reliable and effective sources of supply appropriate to the Company's growth and business development strategies. Obtains necessary purchases at lowest cost consistent with approved quality and delivery standards. Recommends improvements in overall materials management program to advance the interests of the Company.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for delivering an annual cost reduction of 3% of spend ($3M).
- Manages the Gated Strategic Sourcing Process.
- Manages Target Costing / Supplier negotiations.
- Assesses and develops supplier risk management strategies.
- Negotiation of key master supply agreements.
- Manages product development/engineering relationships and support.
- Manage overall supplier relationship from design/development through to Sales Inventory Operations Planning (SIOP).
- Establish best-in-class global sourcing strategies for components and technologies across the global organization.
- Maximize impact of component/system strategies to take advantage of corporate volumes and to minimize company development resources.
- Generate annual continuous improvement in features, quality, reliability, and cost.
- Ensure consistent product development design, function, and execution objectives are being met with components and systems that have a high degree of overlap between system functions.
- Lower total cost supply base with the best quality and delivery.
- Achieve best-in-class pricing, terms, productivity improvements and service
- May participate in Warn Industries' new employee selection process as necessary.
- Responsible for prompt and regular attendance as scheduled.
- Accountable for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance in assigned area. Responsible for design and operating effectiveness of internal controls, including a self-assessment and report to management.
- Accountable for developing and monitoring processes and practices necessary for legal and ethical compliance in assigned area.
- Work safely and without injury.
Required Education and/or Experience:
- BS Degree in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain required. Masters' preferred.
- CPM, CPIM or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) required.
- Experience in Project Management preferred.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Practical international sourcing experience including, but not limited to, contract negotiations, relationship management and Tier 1, 2, and 3 level sourcing background.
- Minimum ten years required of global sourcing experience within OEM environment. Strong emphasis on sourcing of technical materials, manufacturing processes, and quality control.
Required Qualifications:
- Familiarity with global purchasing practices and documents, i.e., contracts, leases, payment techniques, foreign currencies.
- Strong understanding of the legal aspects of purchasing.
- Practical working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) Applications.
- Proficiency in Best Value Country Sourcing.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated team and project leadership.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, customers and visitors.
- Ability to effectively lead problem-solving activities.
- Strong knowledge of PC (Microsoft Office) and Internet skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.

Language Skills:
Ability to read, write, verbalize and comprehend instructions and correspondence at the highest levels in the English language. Mathematical Skills:
Must have mathematical skills equivalent to those required under degree requirement.
Physical and Visual Activities:

Physical Demands:
May require a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. May require lifting up to 50 pounds with assistance.
Environment/Atmospheric Conditions:
This position is performed in an office environment. May be necessary to work in a shop environment as job duties require. May be exposed to loud operating machinery, cold temperatures, chemicals, and vapors.
Machines, Tools, Equipment, Software:
Personal computer, fax machine, copy machine, other office equipment, JDE, Microsoft Office. Travel may be necessary as actual job duties and vendors require.
