Strategic Sourcing Manager

As a Strategic Sourcing Manager at Mars you will be responsible for sourcing dairy ingredients portfolio for 100$m of spend within the US and Canada markets. This role reports to the Global Sr Sourcing Manager Dairy Americas and collaborates with external partners as well as internal cross functional teams to ensure development and implementation of effective sourcing strategies which deliver against multiple objectives, including quality, sustainability, supply security and value leadership.

What are we looking for?

• 3 + years of procurement and/or supply chain experience in a progressive environment, which includes the following: in depth understanding of sourcing processes, sourcing strategy development and execution, managing SRM programs and price risk management.
• Experience in commodity markets and/or raw materials sourcing.
• Demonstrated negotiation skills, including application and working with wide range of sourcing tools (e.g. negotiation, e-procurement, supplier relation management, sustainable sourcing, etc).
• Strong communication and presentation skills to interact with all levels of the organization.
• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies which deliver against multiple objectives, including quality, sustainability, supply security and Value Leadership, across the Dairy fats categories in the North Americas region, comprising a portfolio of products valued at more than $100M of spend.
• Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to drive cross functional collaboration and gain support for long-term category strategy development and execution.
• Partner for success with key supplier in the category, develop joint business plans to help achieve strategic category goals and priorities.
• Ensure implementation of Mars Supplier Quality standards in collaboration with the SQA with key suppliers, continue driving and enhancing best in class dairy quality programs within wider industry thru suppliers.
• Partner with ice cream to support 1B$ growth ambition and design the dairy supply chain to address future needs. Driving collaboration with ice cream on consumer value added claims, as dairy is "hero" ingredient for ice-cream.
• Lead Canada localization journey to support market growth amid supply network optimization.
• Partner with R&D on developing the vision for alternative proteins' role in future MW's portfolio, support RFI preparation, market scouting and identifying players in this space, managing start-ups and new technologies commercialization.
• Lead GHG reduction pipeline development and implementation for the dairy fats categories to achieve Mars climate goals.
• Applying appropriate price risk management tools across a range of materials. Manage the dairy fats portfolio to deliver and achieve committed buying performance. Actively communicate updates & changes to S&F as part of the operating plan process, periodic and longer-term financial planning.
