Strategic Sourcing Manager, IT

The Operations team partners closely with ResMed's five business leaders to understand their needs then providing a variety of products and services to help them meet those needs including Customer and Technical Services, Global Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, manufacturing, logistics and distribution. The Global Supplier Alliance team is responsible for providing all the purchased inputs for the business operations worldwide. This activity covers the broad spectrum of purchasing activities from straightforward one-off buys to highly structured supply agreements for sophisticated services developed specifically for ResMed.

Let's talk about the role

The Strategic Sourcing Manager will be responsible for driving global, regional and local sourcing and supplier management activities to support the sourcing strategies and other sourcing or cost savings projects for Business Units or Categories, in an individual contributor role, working closely with business stakeholders. This may include the identification and approval of new suppliers and the placement of business with existing suppliers in consultation with the GSA Category Managers and Business stakeholders. Key to the success of this role will be the facilitation of communications between ResMed and the Supplier to drive optimum solutions for our requirements which then translates into measurable value delivered to the ResMed organisation.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Develop Sourcing strategies for support of Indirect spend projects in consultation with business stakeholders
• Manage sourcing documents, agreements, statements of work, amendments, renewals and related procurement documents

• Lead and Manage RFI/RFQ/RFPs from start to finish, which includes creation, issuance, and facilitation of the entire process, through supplier evaluations (using scorecards) and supplier selection
• Manage complex sourcing projects and lead contract negotiations that optimize value to the company
• Liaise with Finance, Legal, Vendor Security, Privacy, Supplier Alliance teams and other departments on Supplier management related matters
• Lead projects that drive price reduction, optimized demand, vendor consolidation and process improvement
• Ensure that the supplier selection process is in support of the category strategy and the ResMed Quality Management System.

• Professionally manage and measure suppliers for continuous performance and improvement.
• Promote internal stakeholder awareness of indirect procurement processes and systems, and promote compliance to Procurement best practices to reduce maverick spending
• Evaluate suppliers for preferred supplier programs by category and drive adoption with stakeholders
• Maintain thorough knowledge of ResMed's Quality system to work within established policies and procedures.
• Identify, develop and deliver, in consultation with other stakeholders, continuous improvements to the processes which support Global Supplier Alliance activities.

Position Specific Skills and Challenges

• Position requires promotion of best practice in Strategic Sourcing and change management in order to align commercial resources to growing business needs
• Effective negotiation and influencing skills in supply base management is required to ensure ResMed maintains competitive advantage in changing commercial markets

• Position requires detailed knowledge of Category management in order to appropriately identify resources required to facilitate optimal outcomes.

• Requires 10-20% travel as needed, international and domestic

Minimum

• Degree qualification in Engineering, Science or Business discipline. Alternatively, candidates with extensive directly applicable experience will be considered.
• 5 years' experience in IT and Supply Management Strategic Sourcing or Category management role

Preferred

• CPM certification or recognized training in Procurement & Negotiation

Experience

• Experience practicing best-in-class procurement processes (category management, bench-marking, should-cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting, etc.)
• Deep knowledge of key contract language and terms and strong understanding of structuring and drafting various contracts including NDAs, MSA, SOW and software licensing agreements

• Proven record of measuring supplier KPIs, developing scorecards, reports, and driving Quarterly business review (QBR) process to monitor sourcing and supplier performance
• Experience leveraging strategic and transactional procurement systems for spend analysis, sourcing, contracting and supplier management
