LTCG is a leading provider of business process outsourcing for the insurance industry, managing over 1.3 million long-term care policies for the nation's largest insurers. We also provide clients with unique risk management insight built upon our proprietary long term care databases.
The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for supporting the Strategic Sourcing Manager resources and assisting to managethe company's end to end sourcing operations and contract life cycle. They will work with IT and business leaders to implement their strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will be able to appraise and improve our sourcing activities by analyzing the company's spending, supplying partnerships and new possibilities.
- Assist management of the company's supplier portfolio ensuring transparency of spending.
- Responsible for the supporting the administration of Information technology budgets, purchases, vendors, contracts, and software licenses.
- Develop a knowledge base of negotiating strategies, best practices, and negotiation personnel and teams. Make improvements to processes, procedures, workflow and organizational structures for contract management.
- Work alongside other Strategic Sourcing and Procurement colleagues and contract managers to assist them in developing statements of work (SOWs) and understand any current requests for information (RFIs), requests for quotations (RFQs) and requests for proposal (RFPs) that are in the pipeline.
- Analyze and calculate costs of procurement and suggest methods to decrease expenditure through industry benchmarking.
- Optimize sourcing procedures to attain maximum efficiency.
- Cooperate with stakeholders to guarantee agreement on terms and processes.
- Estimate risks and apply risk minimizing techniques.
- Assist the VMO team with tracking and managing the annual vendor contract renewals.
- Applies negotiation skills to resolve vendor disputes with an acceptable outcome for all parties.
- Assists in the development of internal policies and tools necessary to implement strategic sourcing initiatives and assists in prioritizing strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Assists in monitoring and tracking vendor performance through periodic financial reviews, service performance, customer satisfaction surveys, and customer outreach.
- Develop a knowledge base of negotiating strategies, best practices, and negotiation personnel and teams. Make improvements to processes, procedures, workflow and organizational structures for contract management.
- Assist the VMO team for commercial and financial arrangements with vendors to include billing, invoicing, performance incentives and remedies, and internal chargebacks, where appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
- 4+ years experience in supplier sourcing/procurement management, negotiating and managing contract life cycles, with an emphasis on technology or IT service agreements
- 6+ years experience in IT or business management
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to influence and lead
- Ability to communicate with IT users, legal and procurement staff, and business leaders to craft contracts that align complex needs with contractual requirements to achieve business outcomes
- Demonstrate relationship and interpersonal skills to be applied in working with vendors across the entire contract life cycle
- Strong relationship management and contract negotiation skills
- Ability to travel globally and regionally up to 10%
- Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of productivity applications
- Ability to perform research and analysis through data mining tools
- Ability to analyze complex situations and implement solutions
- Possess excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills necessary for team coordination, helping partners, and service discussions with IT leadership and suppliers
- Demonstrated proficiency in financial or data analysis
Preferred
- ITIL foundation training
- Experience in Global Procurement organization
- Experience in metrics development, reporting and analysis
- Experience with data warehouse queries and using analytical tools to interpret, cleanse, organize and generate useful information
- Nationally recognized professional purchasing certification such as CPM, CPSM, CPPB or CPPO
- Lean or Six Sigma or other process improvement methodology skills
