We are looking for a candidate who embodies 3 attributes, which we believe make an excellent strategist:

Questions come naturally to you. You are someone who constantly seeks more information about a client’s challenge, a product, a target audience, or a cultural trend. You have a tenacity to get to the bottom of things and won’t rest until there’s clarity and focus behind a challenge.
Creativity
You’re not afraid to share a new perspective. While you’re not responsible for coming up with creative ideas, you feel comfortable identifying and pushing for new ways to solve problems. Whether it’s repositioning a client’s objective, seeking new information about our target audience to identify deeper needs, or coming up with jump-off points for creatives, you bring in a fresh perspective that turns an assignment from a “job” into an exciting challenge.

You’re someone who cares to push and build ideas, share proactive thoughts and new findings, and steer thinking towards better meeting our client’s objectives, even if the creative briefing is already done.
- Act as a collaborative brand leader, owning strategy development with a range of clients across diverse industries with both B2C and B2B projects
- Be a knowledge champion of customers, culture, and competition, helping our teams better understand our client’s landscape
- Work with clients to determine clear objectives, goals, KPI’s, strategies and tactics
- Design thought-provoking, clear creative briefs, inspiring our teams to build great ideas that exceed our client’s objectives
- Partner with research & measurement counterparts to ensure projects are measured and to identify key learnings & opportunities
- Create and confidently present client-facing materials
- Provide strategic POVs on client’s areas of business, as requested
- Act as a thoughtful, consultative partner to our clients and internal cross-functional teams
- Develop frameworks and methodologies for approaching major strategic issues, leveraging existing Momentum intellectual capital
- Participate in new business pitches, as needed
- Supporting Momentum’s values
- All other duties as assigned
HERE’S WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR (QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certificate/diploma preferred
- 3+ years of experience in marketing strategy or planning
- Agency experience in a strategy role
- Proven leadership ability with client relationship skills
- Familiarity with the experiential landscape and integrated planning
- Experience managing and coordinating multiple strategic projects across internal teams and client relationships
- Knowledge of strategic disciplines (including primary research, segmentation, targeting, measurement, etc.)
- Strong ability to identify secondary research
- Exceptional written, oral communication and presentation skills
- Great presentation design skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
