Strategists sit on the Cultural Strategy and Insights (CSI) team at 160over90. The role of the Strategist is to help senior strategy team members inspire and energize creative teams. Strategist will demonstrate strong aptitude for and awareness of the role of insight-driven creative briefs and breakthrough planning in the overarching agency process.

Success in this role requires both "hard skills" (e.g. knowledge of best practices, platform fundamentals, consumer behaviors, insight articulation, creative brief writing, research tools) and "soft skills" (e.g. intellectual curiosity, cultural awareness, collaboration, and emotional intelligence).

Strategists are expected to quickly develop an in-depth understanding of clients' businesses and strong working relationships with their creative, account, and production counterparts.

The right candidate will be able to assist across marketing channels and disciplines, and should feel comfortable and excited to support the experiential team specifically.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Desk and syndicated research
  • Assist in creative brief development
  • Assist in experiential and communications plan development
  • Assist in primary research design
  • Assist with new business opportunities
  • Take ownership of specific assignments to support team's work
  • Forge working partnerships with account and creative peers


REQUIREMENTS
  • 2+ years strategy experience in a creative agency
  • Experience with partnerships, sponsorships, alcoholic beverages, new business, social content, and luxury brands a plus
  • Solid understanding of experiential marketing fundamentals, best practices, and frameworks
  • A cursory understanding of how category dynamics, cultural trends and competitor activity can impact clients and ideas
  • Natural interest in staying abreast of cultural trends and emerging consumer behaviors
  • Desire and willingness to continue building core strategy skills, including comms and experience planning, social best practices, presentation and storytelling, brand strategy, etc.
