IFC's Corporate Strategy Unit (CBFSP) is one of the units in the Blended Finance & Corporate Strategy Department (CBFDR), reporting to the VP of Economics & Private Sector Development (CEDVP). CBFSP provides expert support to Senior Management and Operations on the formulation and execution of corporate strategy. This includes developing the IFC corporate strategy, partnering on WBG corporate strategy, providing relevant analytics and perspectives to IFC Senior Management, and advising and working with departments on the development of their own strategies.

Within the above context, CBFSP interfaces with the IFC Board, management of the other WBG institutions, and with stakeholders and partners across IFC and the broader WBG. CBFSP also manages the interface between IFC and IEG, and produces the IFC Corporate Scorecard, the IFC Monthly Operations Report, the IFC Investment Client survey, acts as the Secretariat for IFC's Strategists and Economists (S&E) Network and manages strategic initiatives.

CBFSP is looking for a Strategy Officer to work on a Development Assignment as a key contributor to various facets of the unit's work. A key focus is to support the IFC engagement with IEG. S/he will work closely with colleagues within CBFSP, and IFC Operations, as well as with other counterparts in IFC and the WBG (WB, MIGA, SEC and IEG).

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Task Team Lead, s/he will support the team and, in some instances lead, in delivering its mandate across tasks, with an initial focus on:
• Management of the IFC and IEG interface.
• Support IFC Corporate Lead in the collaboration with Technical Lead(s) in the IFC and IEG interface and engagement under the Task Team Leader's supervision throughout the year, including report review and preparation of management comments, preparation of management response for CODE/Board discussion, draft communications, organization of the proposed Board meeting discussions and attendance etc. that are critical to the IFC-IEG relationship and IFC Board engagement success and IFC's development effectiveness.
• Support IFC Management engagement in the annual Results and Performance (RAP) exercise.
• Support IFC Management engagement (in conjunction with WB/MIGA) in the yearly
• Management Action Record (MAR) progress report.
• Support IFC Management engagement in the annual exercise for IEG Work Program.
• Consultation, including two Board engagements.
• Work closely and foster collaboration as appropriate with IEG and other WBG partners (SEC, World Bank, MIGA) throughout the IFC- IEG evaluation and strategic engagement processes.
• Attend and closely observe the monthly WBG-IEG-SEC coordination meetings.
• IFC-IEG engagement strategies and processes.
• Formulate the draft internal stakeholders and process/timeline for the approach papers/evaluation reports assigned.
• Play a central role in the development and dissemination of the quarterly Operations Committee (OC) report.
• Lead or support the development and dissemination of the monthly Thematic Status Report.
• Lead website updates on Corporate Strategy IFC-IEG Engagement intranet site and training documents e.g., Thematic Guides.
• Assist with timely updates of the team's work plan workbook.
• Maintain the CSS IEG Engagement Outlook account and email address communications.
• Maintain the time tracking workbook for each IEG report.

This is a Development Assignment based in Washington, DC for an initial duration of 12 MONTHS. Only Term/Open Appointment Staffs are eligible to apply for this DAIS position.

Selection Criteria
• Master's degree in business, economics, or a closely related field with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Excellent written communication skills, including long form (word documents) and PowerPoint presentations. Ability to synthesize.
• Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to distill, integrate, and translate complex issues and information from diverse sources and perspectives into clear, crips and strategically relevant insights.
• Strong project management skills, with proven track record in execution and ability to innovate and create projects/programs from scratch and work independently; ability to deliver against tight timelines and with quick turn-around.
• Ability to consider problems from new perspectives and expand on the thinking/solutions proposed by others; independent engagement in analysis and tasks requiring the interpretation of complex or imperfect sets of information.
• Ability to work successfully in multicultural teams and recognized as a team player.
• Experience in data visualization tools and dashboard development a plus.
• Superior interpersonal skills, and ability to prioritize as well as multi-task.
