Role Snapshot

The Internship Program with WPS Health Solutions is comprised of four key components. WPS interns will primarily focus on the responsibilities within their functional areas, as it relates to their respective field of study. In a group setting, interns will collaborate on the "Pay-It-Forward Project" - the development of a resource to be utilized for future program participants. The third component relates to exposure to corporate culture and training to aid in future career successes. At the conclusion of the program, interns will participate in a final presentation for senior executives by showcasing their experience in the program and functional areas.

What the team does:

We are a small team with a lot of responsibility. From enterprise strategic planning, to gathering competitive intelligence, acquisition analysis, partnership development, building performance dashboards, and product/market strategy - we find opportunities, solve problems, and help shape the direction of WPS. You will help identify business issues, do lots of quantitative analysis and research, solve problems (healthcare has a few), communicate data-driven recommendations and solutions to leaders, and help implement the strategies and solutions we develop.

What you will do:

  • In conjunction with full-time staff, receive entry-level professional experience in a specialty field, as appropriate to the day-to-day operating objectives of the department
  • Conduct market and competitive research
  • Gather and synthesize significant amounts of data
  • Build quantitative models and interpret results
  • Participate in issue identification and problem solving
  • Create succinct and logically-structured communications
  • Work collaboratively with team members throughout WPS
  • Contribute to projects and programs designed to develop professional skills and expertise appropriate to the needs of the organization
  • Maintain knowledge and ensure the protection of hardware/software system security policies, practices and requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Be currently pursuing an associate's, bachelor's or other advanced degree
  • Have experience with Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Top-tier academic performance
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent (or be pursuing one of these)
  • Strong communication skills - both written and verbal
  • An analytic or problem-solving mindset
  • A drive to constantly improve

Hourly Rate of Pay: The hourly range for this position is $18/hour

Work Location: Hybrid remote work schedule in Madison, WI

Remote Worker Requirements

For remote position, employee is required to meet remote worker requirements including a designated workstation and a minimum of 10Mbps downstream connection with at least 1Mbps upstream (can be checked at https://speedtest.net)
