Job Description
The Strategy and Acquisitions Senior Analyst will conduct environmental scans, organization positioning analyses and model investment opportunities (inorganic and organic) that are in line with the division's long-range goals.

This role provides an opportunity to work together with Market Platforms and Nasdaq Corporate Strategy executive leadership teams. You will expand on your deal experience as Nasdaq looks to grow its Market Platforms division with additional partnerships, business investments and/or acquisitions. We have an inquisitive eye on the market and are looking for opportunities to strategically grow our investment across Trading Services, Digital Assets and Marketplace Technology businesses. The nature of the role results in an ebb and flow pace at times depending on deal flow which requires both an ability to manage competing priorities under strict deadlines along with the fortitude and preparation to dive into the next big endeavor whenever it arises.
Your role and responsibilities
Daily responsibilities and tasks may include:
- This individual will help model, communicate, and execute on strategic growth projects for Market Platforms
- Assist in preparing analysis regarding the impact of possible mergers, acquisitions, investments and divestitures on profitability, operations, and strategy.
- Perform appropriate due diligence and conduct financial and profitability analysis to support the business teams in evaluating potential business opportunities.
- Prepare environmental scans, feasibility, and gap analysis on key strategic initiatives within the Market Platforms business unit.
- Follow and report on market activity and changes to the competitive landscape for Market Platforms.
- Support the strategic planning process by coordinating and interpreting input from finance, product, and sales teams across the division to facilitate the broader Market Platforms strategy as appropriate
We expect you to have
- 2+ years of experience as part of a corporate development team or in investment banking
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; experience in making presentations and communicating ideas and plans to senior executives
- Solid understanding of financial statement analysis and financial modeling, including valuation methods
- Expertise in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, knowledge of Oracle Crystal Ball is a plus
- Rigorous analytical skills - including building financial models, performing competitive research and benchmarking, market segmentation and sizing
- Bachelor's degree with relevant coursework in Finance, Accounting, Statistics and/or Economics required
It would be great if you also have
- Experience in the financial services industry or with direct investing along with hands-on work as a deal professional
- Education Required: B.A. or B.S. in a business related discipline.
- Experience Required: 2-4 years of experience.
