Arcellx, Inc. (http://www.arcellx.com/) is a clinical-stage biotechnology company reimagining cell therapy by engineering innovative immunotherapies for patients with cancer and other incurable diseases. Our offices are located in Gaithersburg, Maryland, and Redwood City, California.
Arcellx's lead product candidate, CART-ddBCMA, is being developed for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma (r/r MM) in an ongoing study. CART-ddBCMA has been granted Fast Track, Orphan Drug, and Regenerative Medicine Advanced Therapy designations by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Arcellx is also advancing its dosable and controllable CAR-T therapy, ARC-SparX, through two programs: ACLX-001 for r/r MM and ACLX-002 in relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia and high-risk myelodysplastic syndrome.
In this role you will partner with Chief Business Officer to develop business-critical insights using analytics, ensure cross-functional alignment of goals and execution, and help teams drive strategic partnerships and initiatives forward.
The ideal candidate is curious about business operations and passionate about impacting the strategy of a public clinical-stage biotech company as we scale the organization, prepare for launch of our lead program and advance on our novel cell therapy platform. This role will support the Chief Business Officer as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to drive success and transformative changes for Arcellx.
In this role, you will support efforts through structured problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, and program management. You will be responsible for shaping, managing, and executing strategic projects or workstreams with our stakeholders, analyzing its results, and presenting insights to executive leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and present critical strategy recommendations to Arcellx’s executive team, including our CEO and the rest of Senior Management Team.
- Contribute to key strategic initiatives such as business development, financing strategy, pipeline portfolio prioritization, and manufacturing capacity.
- Partner with Chief Business Officer to align the company priorities with daily operations, and help evolve early stage ideas into growth initiatives.
- Monitor, measure and assess how critical initiatives and investments are performing and delivering results for the company.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including discovery, clinical development, marketing, finance, manufacturing, and other teams.
- Structure complex and ambiguous strategic problems for the Arcellx leadership team.
- Develop a deep understanding of our peer and competitor positioning as well as the emerging cell therapy landscape to inform your recommendations.
- Define clear hypotheses to identify new opportunities, and build business cases and quantitative models that will inform and influence our strategy.
- Partner with program leadership, using data and insight to define changes, design experiments, and implement those changes.
- Contribute to improving our capabilities by enhancing existing processes.
Minimum qualifications:
- MBA, PhD
- 5+ years of experience at a biotech company, management consulting, corporate strategy, investment banking/private equity, or venture capital.
- Academic or industry background in biology, biotech, healthcare, or cell therapy.
- Experience developing, communicating, and executing on business insights.
- Experience analyzing processes, business systems, and operating models to identify actionable improvement opportunities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment with deadlines.
- Ability to lead discussions with cross-functional group to identify issues/solutions.
- Ability to take initiative and build, productive relationships and work cross-functionally and manage multiple projects.
- Excellent organizational, project management, problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with excellent business acumen.
