Job Description

The Strategy Implementation Manager is responsible for developing the strategic implementation capability and reputation within Growth & Generosity (G&G) and aid in building trusting partnerships with the ability to problem solve and execute. This position will provide internal consulting for strategic initiatives and will play a key, high visibility role that will require frequent interactions both cross functionally and with leaders across the enterprise. The G&G strategy implementation teams will be viewed as the “jet pack” to accelerate work where incremental investment is needed, additional orchestration is required to bring something new to the organization, and/or launch work that does not yet have clear ownership.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Plan and support delivery of G&G strategic initiatives through collaborative partnerships across businesses, functional areas and product teams. 
  • Support the establishment of "how-to guides" to document key processes, partners, and forums to accelerate delivery of work on current and future initiatives.  
  • Shepherd execution of G&G strategic initiatives by navigating and mastering interdependencies between key business, technology, product and financial planning processes and routines.  
  • Maintains strong communication and collaboration with key stakeholders, including Senior Leaders.  
  • Leverages strategic frameworks and strategy management methodologies to provide guidance and thought leadership. 
  • Supports teams throughout the implementation process to ensure seamless handoff and enable future implementation success within the business.  
  • Identifies and raises potential risks and roadblocks to delivery of strategic initiatives and proposes mitigation solutions. 
  • Works collaboratively with Client Analytics, Measurement, & Reporting and Client Insights & Strategy teams to apply key insights, data, and measurement to strategic initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:  

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. 

  • 7-10 years experience in Strategy Implementation, Project Management, Management Consulting, or related field. 

  • Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to adapt and reprioritize as needed. 

  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) skills with ability to effectively communicate rationale and impact for prioritization choices. 

  • Strong analytical and synthesizing ability with high level of organization and attention to detail. 

  • Proven problem-solving ability with focus on activation of cross-functional teams and work.  

  • Experience navigating a large matrixed organization to deliver large, cross functional initiatives.  

  • Ability to build trusting partnership and experience with cross-functional collaboration, including influencing stakeholders and working with diverse teams. 

  • Strong analytical skills to effectively structure business problems and leverage data (qualitative and quantitative) to identify insights and inform recommendations.  

  • Strategic thinking, business acumen, and strength in execution with excellence. 

  • Data-driven decision maker with strong personal and professional judgement. 

  • Strong collaboration skills. 

  • Advanced skills in MS office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. 

 

Preferred:  

  • Familiarity with financial services. 

  • Proficiency in project management methodology and tools.  

  • Experience defining high-quality business requirements. 

  • Experience working directly with and presenting to senior executives.  

  • Experience interacting with product operating model. 

  • Strong knowledge of key message, insights, and data visualization techniques. 

  • Experience developing change management, implementation, or communication plans. 

  • Ability to effectively articulate and represent a complex strategy in a simple and understandable manner.

The applicable salary or hourly wage range for this full-time role is $109,738.00 - $148,468.00 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will be determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, business needs, market demand, and other factors Thrivent deems important.
