The role of the Strategy & Transformation Office (STO) is to enable CNA's business strategy through the identification and execution of enterprise-wide strategic initiatives and large-scale change programs. The function is designed to optimize business performance, enhance operating models, and lead CNA's top-quartile growth through collaborative execution with cross-functional stakeholders. The STO reports to the Global Head of Marketing, Strategy, and Innovation. The team partners with Executives and Senior Leaders to understand strategic issues, perform related analyses, and design approaches to deliver measurable business impact and accelerate growth. The STO collaborates with Underwriting, Operations, HR, Finance, Technology and other stakeholders throughout the lifecycle to inform decision-making, drive execution, and facilitate communication with structured pace.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
Gather and organize various quantitative and qualitative inputs to perform analyses and summarize insights for specified initiatives.
Conduct research, compile data, and prepare deliverables for specific focus areas.
Support coordination of activities across identified stakeholder groups.
Capture, track, and communicate activity progress to stakeholders; Identify and escalate issues as needed.
Manage various, parallel responsibilities to support structure and pace of initiatives.
Organize and maintain repository of pertinent information.
Maintain and enhance frameworks and templates, as needed, for future re-use.
Infuse relevant industry trends, operational best practices and benchmarks when needed.
May perform additional duties as assigned.
Reporting Relationship
Typically AVP or above
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
  • Broad understanding of the insurance industry, including products, services, competitors and industry trends.
  • Solid communication and presentation skills both verbal and written, including the ability to
    document and communicate information clearly.
  • Strong research, analytical, organizational and planning capabilities, including the ability to work with various types of data.
  • In-depth knowledge of project management principles and tools.
  • Knowledge of change management principles and methods.
  • Ability to organize and execute multiple project activities concurrently.
  • Proficiency to facilitate meetings of medium to high complexity.
  • Broad awareness of current technology trends, operational best practices, and emerging insurance industry trends.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree, in related discipline, or equivalent.
  • Typically a minimum of four to seven years' related work experience.
  • Experience in financial services preferred, Property & Casualty insurance expertise a plus.
