Your role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Structural Analysis Engineer (ADV00066B) to join our JETS II team with the Engineering Division located at Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.

What you'll do all day:

• Use aerospace experience to perform classical hand stress analysis, finite element stress analysis and fracture analysis.
• Be familiar with NASA standards for structural analysis and fracture control.
• Use NASGRO to perform fracture/damage tolerance analysis.
• Be proficient in the use of finite element modeling techniques using FEMAP or PATRAN or FEMAP for finite element model development and pre/post processing and NASTRAN for finite element solution.
• Prepare structural analysis reports and work with other engineers to find resolutions to problems.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering in the field or in a related area
• Experience using FEMAP or PATRAN for finite element model development and post/processing
• MSC/NASTRAN or NX/NASTRAN for finite element model solution
• Familiarity with desktop software applications, MS Office is required
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
• U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants

Desired skills and experience for this position:

• Prior experience performing structural analysis on NASA Flight Hardware is preferred
• Non-linear finite element analysis experience is a plus
