Your role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Structural Analysis Engineer (ADV00066B) to join our JETS II team with the Engineering Division located at Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.
What you'll do all day:
- Use aerospace experience to perform classical hand stress analysis, finite element stress analysis and fracture analysis.
- Be familiar with NASA standards for structural analysis and fracture control.
- Use NASGRO to perform fracture/damage tolerance analysis.
- Be proficient in the use of finite element modeling techniques using FEMAP or PATRAN or FEMAP for finite element model development and pre/post processing and NASTRAN for finite element solution.
- Prepare structural analysis reports and work with other engineers to find resolutions to problems.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Are a self-starter and require little oversight to complete given tasks

Minimum requirements for this position:

- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering in the field or in a related area
- Experience using FEMAP or PATRAN for finite element model development and post/processing
- MSC/NASTRAN or NX/NASTRAN for finite element model solution
- Familiarity with desktop software applications, MS Office is required
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants
- Prior experience performing structural analysis on NASA Flight Hardware is preferred
- Non-linear finite element analysis experience is a plus
