Manpower Engineering is exclusively partnering with an industry leading well-established and growing company in Madison WI on a remote highly visible and direct hire/permanent Structural Engineer position that's available due to continued growth and has very strong advancement potential as the Director of Structural Engineering would ideally like to find someone that can take over this department in the near future.

The company has a very long and strong track record of success – 123 years – and grown 27+% over the past two years and continues to expand. In 2023 our client acquired another company a leading manufacturer of highly engineered metal buildings for industrial and commercial applications. The transaction created one of the largest prefabricated and control Buildings (P&CB) providers in the United States.

They’re a manufacturer of high quality prefabricated substation control buildings and electrical equipment enclosures for Electric Utility Power Generation and Industrial clients. Their pre-assembled modular steel buildings and integrated packages feature state-of the art design engineering and materials which provide exceptional protection energy efficiency quality and convenience for highly technical customers and applications.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Structural Engineer coordinates and exercises functional authority for engineering of structural aspects of our product line to ensure functionality quality cost and schedule by performing the following duties as instructed by the Director of Structural Engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles company standards customer contract requirements and related specifications.
  • Advises on design changes specifications and drawing releases.
  • Interfaces with others in the organization and customers to jointly determine customer needs and solutions.
  • Uses computer assisted engineering and design software to perform and develop engineering calculations on specific projects and provide state stamp when applicable.
  • Reviews product failure data and interprets analyses to establish or rule out material and process causes.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Endeavors to create a workplace environment which is enjoyable engenders pride in the product and focus on the customer and provides room for individual responsibilities and ideas.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering Structural Engineering or a related field.
  • 0+ years of experience.
  • Structural design experience is a plus.
  • 3D design experience. The company uses RISA 3D and SolidWorks.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to interface at all levels.
  • Organized focused and results-oriented with the ability to work on multiple parallel projects.
