Structural Engineer

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineer to be based in Houston, Texas.

You will be joining of a global team of 500+ maritime specialists who support on a wide range of maritime developments including container terminals, LNG facilities, waterfront developments, cruise and ferry terminals, marinas and harbors as well as coastal schemes such as beach development and coastal protection schemes.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Undertaking design activities on maritime projects - container terminals, mining/bulk, oil/gas, marinas, ports and harbors, coastal defense and development schemes.
• Structural design for wharves, piles, sheet piles, dolphins, across the United States.
• Independently prepare engineering related calculations and develop structural technical specifications, plans, and details.
• Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
• Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related field + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Valid Driver's license required
• Professional Engineering (PE) License

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years' experience in structural design
• Master of Science (with structural engineering concentration)
• Experience in the design of marine structures
• Knowledge of computer analysis and design software such as SAP 2000, RISA 3D or STAAD.Pro
• Enthusiastic, hard-working, technically proficient, with ambition and drive
