Structural Engineer (Entry-Level)

Our Northeast Engineering Design business group in Buffalo, NY is looking for an entry-level Structural Engineer to join their team! In this position, you will assist with the engineering design, evaluation and implementation of structures associated water and wastewater infrastructure, industrial, property and building and government/department of defense projects.

In this role your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting Engineers by performing the routine aspects for engineering assignments
• Performing design calculations, sketches and technical comparisons
• Reviewing and editing project specifications
• Preparing and editing designs and drawings recommended by Project Engineers
• Preparing portions of project documents
• Researching code and regulatory requirements
• Researching design options, component specifications and document findings for Project Engineers and Job Manager
• Responding to contractor's questions and preparing alternate designs as needed under the guidance of Project Engineers
• Performing analysis and design retrofit of new and existing utilities.

Successful skills & qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering; Master's Degree is a plus
• 0-3 years of experience in the structural engineering
• Engineer in Training Certification and applicable internship experience preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD; Revit knowledge is a plus
• Knowledge of modeling and design software as applicable
• Involvement in professional organization preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both within a team and independently
• Ability to be proactive and take ownership of the task involved
