Job Description

Prepare analytical models of new construction or existing structures, relating to the design, rehabilitation, and construction of transit facilities and structures. Prepare design calculation packages for various structural elements and materials, including shallow foundations, retaining walls, structural steel framing, reinforced concrete and masonry framing, shear walls, diaphragm design, and connection designs. Analyze and design concrete, steel, masonry, foundation, and timber structures by utilizing in-depth knowledge of Building Codes such as: IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, ACI 530, AISC 341, NDS, AISC 360, TMS 402/602 and AISI. Conduct field inspections and condition assessments. Compile structural reports to summarize all findings and recommendations. Assist in document delivery by preparing plans, sections, elevations and details by hand, AutoCAD, and Revit. Model all structural aspects of a building in Revit and act as a key member in running clash detection and overall inter-disciplinary coordination. Prepare project specifications. Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines during both the design and construction phases of a project. Support projects through the construction phase by responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals and communicating with the general contractor and client directly to resolve field issues and concerns. Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD, RAM Structural Suite, TEDDS, Hilti PROFIS Anchor, SAP2000, ETABS, and SAFE. Utilize Blue Beam Revu, PDF Xchange Editor and Microsoft Office. Utilize Cisco VPN, WebEx and Microsoft Teams.

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering and 2 years of experience in the job offered or 2 years of experience in a related occupation utilizing in-depth knowledge of building codes and standards: IBC, ASCE7, AISC 360, AISC 341, ACI 318, and ACI 530; utilizing AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD, RAM Structural Suite, TEDDS, Hilti PROFIS Anchor, SAP2000, ETABS, and SAFE; utilizing Blue Beam Revu, PDF Xchange Editor and Microsoft Office; and utilizing Cisco VPN, WebEx and Microsoft Teams.
