AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineering III to be based in the following locations: Orange, CA, Los Angeles, CA, Ontario, CA and San Diego, CA

Job Summary/Responsibilities

• The candidate must work independently or as a member of a team to perform structural engineering tasks primarily in the transportation industry.
• Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
• Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
• Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
• Identifies discrepancies in results.
• Provides guidance to entry-level engineers.
• Performs work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
• Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
• Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.
• Able to communicate effectively with team members and clients
• Able to maintain schedules.

Minimum Requirements

• BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Ability to clear a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)

Preferred Qualifications

• Ideally 5 years of progressive engineering experience with Caltrans bridge projects
• Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited university
• EIT required
• PE preferred
• Has knowledge of Caltrans and AASHTO bridge and structures codes are required as well as facility in the usage of structural engineering and CADD software.
