Job Description: Structural Analysis (FEA) Intern

Bloom Energy, a solid oxide fuel cell company, is looking for a Structural Analysis (FEA) to join its world class team. This individual should be a dynamic professional who is looking for a rewarding future in one of today's most exciting technologies.

Location: This position will be based in San Jose, CA

Compensation: This is a paid internship

Start Date: Flexible - This is a FULL TIME 10-12 week summer internship

Role and Responsibilities:

Candidates must have a background in one or more of the following requirements:

• Thermo-structural analysis
  • Assist in solving the mechanical design problems related to high temperature applications using the FEA tools
  • Able to validate the simulations using hand calculations for sanity checks
• Grid Generation, Model setup and solving:
  • Understanding of how to setup and solve non-linear FE analysis problems using ABAQUS and Hypermesh tools

Skills and Experience:

• Strong understanding of fundamentals of the strength of materials
• Exposure to FEA tools such as ABAQUS/HYPERMESH
• Python programming and Scripting is advantageous
• Very good communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Comfortable working in teams
• Work experience in the process industry is a plus but is not required.
• Graduate Education in:
  • Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering with FEA & Mechanical Design background
  • M.S. degree candidates preferred

Salary Ranges:

$20.70 - $31.55
