About the job
Google's products are known for their clean design, ensuring users can quickly and easily find what they're looking for. As an Engineering Designer, you leverage your strong technical background and understanding of "good" design to look for ways to streamline the user experience. You work closely with the product managers and development engineers throughout the entire production cycle. You design everything from high-level product flow to detailed UI mockups and then use your expert scripting skills to make your designs a reality.
As a member of a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team, you'll use your expertise to create Finite Element Models to predict structural behavior and ensure Watch designs meet product requirements. This approach will both identify design issues early in the lifecycle and enable the team to resolve issues that arise during production and reliability testing.
Google's mission is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. Our Devices & Services team combines the best of Google AI, Software, and Hardware to create radically helpful experiences for users. We research, design, and develop new technologies and hardware to make our user's interaction with computing faster, seamless, and more powerful. Whether finding new ways to capture and sense the world around us, advancing form factors, or improving interaction methods, the Devices & Services team is making people's lives better through technology.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$178,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. - Partner closely with Reliability, Material Science Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to drive failure analysis, simulation process improvement, and improve analysis accuracy.
- Document results of analyses with reports and present to product teams, cross-functional teams, and upper management.
- Help drive failure analysis, root cause work, and design of experiments. Respond rapidly in a fast paced environment to technical issues, troubleshooting, and problem solving.
- Support material and component level characterization testing and model validation/correlation efforts.
