Shift to be worked: First Shift Overview of Company Working with a niche market steel processor that is growing in the Southwest in the steel construction industry. Stellar is looking for an experienced welder to join our team. Core Responsibilities and Knowledge: • Welding steel ensuring the quality and safety of welded structures. • Abe to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand project specifications and requirements. • Measure, cut, and shape metal components to specified dimensions using hand tools, plasma cutters, and metal cutting machines. • Utilize various welding methods such as MIG, TIG and Stick welding to join metal parts together effectively. • Set up, maintain, and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring all machinery is in good working condition. • Assess welded surfaces, structures, and components to identify defects or errors, ensuring that all work meets industry standards and specifications. • Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance. • Proficiency in various welding techniques and familiarity with welding equipment and tools. • Strong attention to detail to ensure precision in measurements and welds. • Ability to troubleshoot issues that arise during the welding process. • Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials and working in various positions. • Load and unload material manually or using a jib crane or forklift. • Locate parts and supplies for machine operation and grind material. • Follow all safety rules and PPE requirements.
