Overview

We are seeking a structured finance attorney to join the Ratings Legal team in our New York office. You will work alongside KBRA’s ABS analysts on a wide range of transactions, including auto loans, consumer loans, marketplace lending, credit card receivables, solar loans, equipment leases, aviation financings and whole business securitizations.

About the Team

The structured finance attorneys in our Ratings Legal team work alongside other ratings analysts to identify and evaluate credit risks in transaction structures, review offering and transaction documents and articulate any legal or credit concerns that emerge. We pride ourselves on the quality, accuracy, timeliness and consistency of our product.

About the Job

You will work within KBRA’s ABS team on a wide range of ABS transactions, including auto loans, consumer loans, marketplace lending, credit card receivables, solar loans, equipment leases, aviation financings and whole business securitizations. You will review securitization-related documents to identify and evaluate credit risks and mitigants. Among other responsibilities, you will review and edit KBRA’s market-leading presale reports.

As an influential voice within the ABS team, you will keep abreast of legal and market developments that may impact credit risks in ABS transactions, contribute to research reports and other investor outreach and conduct training for analysts.

About You

You are extremely motivated, able to effectively multi-task and work both independently and closely with other members of the ABS team on the types of matters described above.

In order to be successful in this role, you must have:

  • At least 3 years of experience working on structured finance transactions (ABS, CLO, RMBS or CMBS)
  • JD and admission to the New York bar
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent research, analytical and organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Skilled at working on multiple transactions simultaneously in an organized fashion and able to meet tight deadlines
