Structured Products CLO Trader, Vice President

Job Purpose:

BTIG seeks a CLO trader to join the Structured Products group. The ideal candidate possesses strong client relationships to cover Mutual Funds, Insurance Companies and Hedge Funds that invest in the CLO Market.  This role will primarily focus on trading secondary CLO securities but will also involve opportunities to sell privately placed and syndicated originations.  The candidate should have ample credit skills and be able to show evidence of a successful track record.   The ideal candidate will work with structured products sales professionals, as well as the opportunity to trade other leveraged finance products.  Candidates who are self-starters, team orientated and entrepreneurial will thrive in this dynamic team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ability to successfully leverage existing relationships and cultivate new relationships
• Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and impact on the business.
• Effectively partner with other asset class teams to promote cross-selling across the firm
• Work with mid-office and sales assistants to ensure that trades are captured and confirmed in a timely fashion
• Pitch trade ideas to clients and provide relevant analysis to support recommendations.
• Work closely with sales to understand the objectives of their clients and/or expand the Firm’s franchise.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher; MBA and/or CFA a plus
• Minimum of 5+ years of CLO trading work experience
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills
• Results driven, with a strong sense of accountability
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
• Self-starter
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
