Structures Technician, Haven, 1st Shift

Vast is looking for a Structures Technician to support the development and fabrication of the Haven-1 structure, Vast’s first artificial-gravity human-rated space station. This position is based out of our Long Beach Headquarters. 

As a structures technician on Haven, you will work in a team-oriented environment where quick communication and effective execution are key.

Responsibilities: 

• Assist production of the Haven Structure
• Operate sheet metal machines, Brake, Shear, 4 Bar Roller.
• Prep Material for welding
• Clean and Passivate Material after welding
• Inspect fabricated parts for geometry acceptance
• Self-starter, highly motivated working in a fast-paced department
• Regularly handle large parts in excess of 50lbs
• Experience with a wide variety of fabrication equipment
• Material handling of raw goods and finished weldments

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to read blueprints
• 2+ years of experience in the aerospace or sheet metal industry
• Experience following written and verbal instruction

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Ability to work in a team on fast-moving projects
• Self-starter
• Team player mentality
• Aerospace manufacturing experience
• MIG, TIG, & robotic welding sheet metal
• General Fabrication and simple machining. 

Additional Requirements:

• Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs unassisted
• Ability to stand 8 hours per day
• Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed to support critical mission milestones
