THE ROLE: Stylist

The RGG Boston Photo Studio is looking for a candidate who has experience in e-commerce production and editorial styling. The candidate will style garments and accessories on models for both Rue La La and Gilt. In their role, they will ensure that daily looks on set are in line with our styling guide, creative direction, brand and quality standards for on model editorial production. In addition, they will support our Sr. Producer to coordinate merchandise. This role will require being in the studio 5 days per week.

What You’ll Do: 

• Stay organized and prepared for each set day by reviewing set schedule and art direction, ensuring all merchandise and styling pieces are prepped and ready. 
• Achieve an average of 11 editorial shots per set day. 
• Maintain apparel styling for each shot, keeping a watchful eye on apparel as model moves, making adjustments as needed. 
• Maintain styling closet: weekly organizing, dry cleaning, purchasing new styling pieces and removing old / overused items. 
• Work collaboratively with other studio team members, being receptive to feedback and direction from Manager and Art Director.
• Partner with Sr. Studio Producer and Styling Assistant to shepherd and care for merchandise throughout the photo process: 
• Ensure all merchandise is prepped and ready for each set day: receiving in samples, prepping products and organizing merchandise racks. 
• Checking for any damaged merchandise, maintaining vendor packaging, sku and apparel tags.
• Support receiving in, organizing and shipping out samples.
• Attend meetings with cross-departmental partners in order to stay aligned creatively.
• This role will require being in the photo studio 5 days per week: on set for 3 days and working with merchandise and props 2 days.

• 3+ years of experience on-set fashion styling; freelance or in-house 
• Well-versed in Outlook and Google tools (Docs, Slides, Sheets) to manage work and cross-functional communication.
• Experience working in a fast paced environment - being prepared to get the model changed and back on set as quickly as possible between looks. 
• Strong time management, communication and interpersonal skills
• Understands when styling quality is not up to standard and knows how to make adjustments in the moment.
• Possesses elevated taste level and has a trained eye for detail
• Highly organized
• Has mastered technical styling skills - pinning / clamping, fabric manipulation, tailoring, etc.
• Able to interpret styling / art direction and execute swipe with minimal coaching or guidance
• Able to juggle multiple responsibilities and meet tight and often shifting deadlines
• Basic understanding of lighting, model movement, and pre/post production
• Must be able to stand for up to approximately 8 hours & and lift approximately 25 lbs

Base Salary Range: $55,000 - $62,000
