Job description

Mission Statement:

Technical management of the Protection relays and products Design engineering of Substation control and protection systems leading up to site commissioning to ensure projects are executed in accordance with company procedures, contract specifications and schedule commitments, quality standards, health, safety & environment requirements.

Your Responsibilities:

  • You should have hands on experience with high voltage protection and control system engineering design including schematics preparation, review of engineering documents, protection relay configuration, testing commissioning/ troubleshooting. Knowledge of substation primary equipment & basic protection functions is a Pre-requisite.
  • You will run protection and control relay evaluation and approvals with utilities and other customers and provide on demand technical support and service. Investigate relay failures and arrange/rectify, warranty management.
  • You will be working with Sales team locally and regionally to suggest and decide on the technical solution for sales opportunities and define the most suitable technology and product type(s) to be used based on application requirements.
  • You will be part of Power system, substation and MV/HV switchgear knowledge is an advantage.
  • You should have familiarity with substation automation systems, Remote Terminal Unit (RTU), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Gateways and communication protocols like IEC61850, DNP 3.0 Modbus, IEC 60870-5-101, IEC 60870-5-104, PTP will be a key differentiator.
  • You should promote and enforces safe working environment by enforcing and supporting adequate HSE measures in all activities undertaken by himself & the team, follows ethics and compliances as per company guidelines.

Your Background:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in Sub-station Automation, Protection, and control domain.
  • Ensure safe working procedures and practices are always followed including usage of Personal Protective Equipment, reporting of injury/ incidents/ hazards/ near miss events and prevention measures incorporating lessons learnt.
  • Proficiency in both Spoken and Written English is mandatory. Good verbal and written communication skills are essential.
