Position Purpose:
We are hiring a Subrogation Specialist to join BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. As a Subrogation Specialist, you will identify and pursue subrogation and workers' compensation recoveries. Manages a workload of approximately 500 cases and the collection of approximately $1,000,000 annually.

Logistics: This full-time position (40 hours/week, 8 hours/day) is onsite at 4101 Percival Road, Columbia, SC, Monday through Friday
What You'll Do:
- Analyzes laws, regulations, and contract language concerning the pursuit of subrogation and workers' compensation reimbursements.
- Review claim history to determine the lien amount and assert a lien against interested parties based on applicable laws.
- Negotiates with attorneys, liability carriers, and members for final settlement.
- Under a managing attorney's supervision, relevant subrogation laws concerning Erisa pre-emption, common fund rule, made whole rule, and other doctrines are argued.
- Reconciles monies recovered.
- Maintains effective public relations with external and internal units by providing accurate and prompt responses to inquiries.
To Qualify for This Position, You'll Need:
- Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Required Work Experience: One year of claims processing, customer service or research/analysis experience.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to analyze laws, regulations, and contract language.
- Ability to evaluate issues and develop recommendations.
- Able to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Able to investigate assigned claims.
- Able to propose claims adjustments and refunds.
- Ability to work claims caseloads.
We Prefer You to Have:
- 4-year college degree
- Subrogation/insurance experience.
- Microsoft Office
