Job Description

F&G is looking to hire for a Suitability Coordinator I.

This position is responsible for the daily review of annuity transactions to assess suitability in accordance with company standards.    

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Perform timely determinations regarding whether to accept or decline an application based on company and regulatory guidelines 
  • Review annuity new business and suitability documentation. Gather additional information and provide analysis, extensively document decisions and actions, evaluate and execute information for final suitability recommendation 
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal partners, agents and external business partners to communicate and educate on the company’s suitability guidelines 
  • Maintain efficient customer service standards  
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of offered annuity products and suitability guidelines outlined by the company.  
  • Effectively communicate and provide agents, company personnel, and third-party administrator with support and education on the company’s suitability program 
  • Resolve moderate to complex operational issues pertaining to suitability review and guidelines 
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of the company’s products, administrative systems and procedures 

Experience and Education Requirements 

  • AA or BA degree preferred.  
  • Relevant experience considered in lieu of degree. 
  • 2+ years of life and/or annuity experience preferred, with focus on data, quality standards, documentation, audit, and/or implementation of regulatory changes. 
  • Project Management or Business Analyst experience a plus.  
  • LOMA coursework and/or formal business process improvement training such as Six Sigma is a plus.

  • Reads a wide range of audiences and situations and quickly adjusts communication style accordingly; selects appropriate communication channel and tone to deliver tough messages 
  • Identifies opportunities to use innovative processes 
  • Demonstrates proficiency in digital techniques, methods, and tools used at F&G 
  • Seeks opportunities to cultivate relationships with established contacts in their network 
  • Provides guidance on what information to gather to achieve business objectives and how to efficiently obtain information that is not easily available 
  • Seeks challenging assignments and projects 
  • Understands and demonstrates commitment to the departmental vision, strategy, change initiatives and goals. 
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to improve department performance and escalates ideas to leadership 
  • Leads/participates in process improvement activities 
  • Identifies and drives quantitative analysis 
  • Defines priorities, sets project plan and scope, drives execution of key project tasks, and delegates appropriately to team members 
  • Supports monitoring of vendor performance; identifies and escalates issues; develops processes to maximize vendor performance 
  • Demonstrates ability to develop solutions in real time with practical, measurable business benefits; supports long term business unit or department planning 
  • Maintains industry regulatory knowledge 

Other Requirements: 

  • Perform other functions, duties and projects as assigned 
  • Regular and punctual attendance 
  • Some travel may be required (less than 10%)
