Summer 2023 Digital Media Intern

Position Summary:

As a participant in the Belk Internship Program, you will gain real word experience and exposure to various functional areas of Digital Media. You will focus on generating omni-channel sales and customer engagement through the coordination and execution of paid media, organic media, and influencer campaigns. The intern will partner and learn the full digital media platforms understanding customer behavior through social media platforms and omni-channel to increase optimization. The Internship Program provides exposure to senior leaders, professional development workshops, structured assignments, and social events over the 10 weeks in the Summer. Interns will leave understanding the complexity of big box department stores and the excitement of the retail and ecommerce industry. The internship will be hybrid this summer where you work remotely and come to Charlotte a few times over the summer.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

• Build and execute social media content through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification
• Partner with marketing and merchandising teams to craft social media features and promotions
• Conduct competitive research on social & email marketing best practices
• Analyze social performance, traffic, and sales through omni campaigns
• Define and analyze customer behaviors to identify opportunities for site optimization
• Develop strategies to increase customer traffic to website, email marketing and social sites

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Rising college senior planning to graduate in December 2023 or May 2024
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by Belk for this position now or in the future
• Proven strong academic performer (GPA of 3.2 or higher preferred)
• Majoring in Marketing
• Leadership skills that include professional business ethics, confidence, and self-motivation
• Strong business background with ability to analyze data and draw conclusions
• Proficient in Excel and MS Office applications
