Our Transit and Rail Operations and Service Planning team is seeking a Rail Simulation Modeling Intern to work out of our Baltimore office or Remote.
- Currently studying for a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Planning, Policy, Computer Science, or a related degree, or a combination of education and/or relevant experience to meet the job requirements.
- Familiarity with rail operations, including rail operating rules.
- Experience with rail simulation modeling, preferably RTC.
- Knowledge of rail systems, train control systems/signals, vehicles and/or operations.
- Proficiency in office productivity software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Conduct simulation and other technical analyses under supervision to support capital project delivery, future service plans, infrastructure planning, service outage planning, and any other project that requires the analysis of current and/or future rail operations.
- Contribute to technical reports on rail operations analysis.
- Complete training on assigned tasks.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
- Please note that there is no relocation or housing assistance associated with this internship.
Required Qualifications
