About the role
Anzu Partners is looking for a Summer Analyst for its Debt Team, who will evaluate direct private equity and debt opportunities across a broad range of industries. The Analyst will work alongside senior team members to assist in aspects of analyzing, modeling, and monitoring investments. The role offers a diversified exposure to private equity and fixed income investing.
Key activities include:
- Conduct industry analysis for potential borrower companies
- Assist in the preparation of company and industry analysis, capital structure analysis, cash flow projections, management and sponsor quality, identification of key risks and evaluation of mitigating factors
- Assist in screening, analyzing, and deal structuring recommendations for new financing opportunities based on initial diligence
- Support deal team members in the due diligence process
- Help to prepare presentations for meetings and assist in special projects as needed
The position reports to our Executive-in-Residence, as part of a small, cross-functional team with strong personal and professional development opportunities. We are open to any of our office locations; however, a strong preference is that this person be located in Washington, D.C.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or related field. MBA preferred
- A broad knowledge of investments, an understanding of economic forces affecting a wide range of industries, proficiency in accounting, strong financial modeling skills, and intellectual curiosity
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability
- High degree of self-motivation, passion, and a drive to learn
- Ability to balance multiple priorities
