Purpose: Five Star Bank understands that people are at the heart of its success and as such, its full-time paid summer associate program is designed to identify and develop the next generation of financial services professionals. We are looking for students with H.E.A.R.T. who embody our core values - humble, empowered, ambitious, resilient, and transparent - to help us advance our vision of being an independent, high-performing community bank offering bold and innovative products to the markets we serve.
Our summer associates will begin in June, the program extends through 10-12 weeks, providing participants with real work experience and one-on-one mentorship, culminating in a capstone project and presentation to our executive leadership team.
Students may apply to non-rotational positions across all areas of our company. That includes not only Five Star Bank, but affiliate insurance and wealth management companies including SDN Insurance, Courier Capital and HNP Capital. The Five Star Bank Summer Associate Program offers students a wide range of opportunities across many growing areas of our financial services company including banking, wealth management, investment and insurance, risk management, compliance, human capital, technology and information security, and digital transformation related to banking as a service (BaaS).

Job Related Qualifications - Education and Prior Experience:
Required:
- Candidates must be available to work a hybrid work model, 40 hours per week for the duration of the 2023 program starting in June.
- Occasional travel within corporate footprint (Buffalo and Rochester) will also be required.
- At least 1 year in one or more club(s), volunteerism efforts, or other activities outside of the classroom
Education:
- Currently enrolled as a full time or part time student pursuing an associate's, bachelor's, or master's degree at an accredited college or university.

Physical Requirements:
