GENERAL FUNCTION:

Ten (10) week summer associate opportunity for current law students. The Summer Associate will provide support as directed for assignments within the Legal division while receiving exposure to the broader organization. The Summer Associate will have the opportunity to receive guidance from senior lawyers while taking part in hands-on projects within the legal team, will have exposure to the legal needs of an in-house legal department, and will gain insight and training in multiple fields of practice. The Summer Associate will integrate into the organization through day-to-day activities and project work. The Summer Associate will operate as team members on larger initiatives, but also work independently on smaller projects and tasks.

Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct legal research, draft memos and/or draft documents for various practice areas with leadership oversight.

Ability to effectively communicate with others, demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills.

Perform any other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Current law student at ABA accredited law school.

• Strong academic record.

• Strong research and writing skills.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong analytical skills.

• Ability to work in a team environment.

• Ability to multitask and be flexible.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the capacity to learn additional software applications as required by the assignment.

• Capable of managing own time to meet established deadlines.

• Ability to demonstrate initiative.
