Dev Technology Group is seeking talented rising juniors and seniors for our Summer 2023 Internship Program. Interns will be based out of our headquarters in Reston, Virginia, or our office in Washington, D.C. This is an excellent opportunity for those seeking professional experience in business analytics, software development, sysadmin, DevOps, or related fields. 

What You'll Be Doing:

Dev interns will work on a dynamic software development project in support of a government client. This is an opportunity to help with monitoring and reporting on outcomes for our client, and to observe and participate in many aspects of an Agile software development project. Interns will also work on a technical intern project with the rest of the internship team.

• Monitor the CART system for issues
• Communicate with Government clients at field offices and CART development team to troubleshoot system issues
• Run reports to track daily system performance and issue status, along with tracking daily team performance responding to issues
• Compile monthly team and system metric reports
• Assist with business analyst duties such as working in Confluence and Jira to update our user stories
• Apply strategic and analytical skills to impactful challenges that drive company growth
• Define configuration specifications and business analysis requirements
• Perform quality assurance
• Assist with integration, functional qualification, regression, and user acceptance testing as needed
• Define reporting and alerting requirements
• Own and develop relationship with partners, working with them to optimize and enhance our integration
• Help design, document, and maintain system and troubleshooting processes
• Update and enhance issue knowledge base
• Improve and organize Confluence collaborative site
• Report on common sources of technical issues or questions and make recommendations to product team
• Communicate key insights and findings to product team
• Constantly be on the lookout for ways to improve monitoring, discover issues and deliver better value to the customer
• Practice Agile methodology by attending all Scrum related meetings, such as daily stand-ups, weekly sprint planning, and weekly retros
• Work with fellow summer interns on a technically focused project and present the groups' results to the executive team at the end of the program. Past projects have included creating a mentorship web application, designing a wellness mobile application, and creating a technical environment as well as reaching out to local universities regarding a hackathon/tech challenge.
• Attend corporate level meetings to learn about other areas of the business, such as business development, finance, and project management 

Required Skills and Experience:

• Rising juniors and seniors working toward a bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
• Interest in business analytics and good at problem solving
• The ability to work independently and in a team with developers providing guidance and support
• A desire to learn new skills, including self-study if needed 
• The ability to take initiative and follow through on tasks to completion
• Solid organization skills
• Detail-oriented and capable of producing a high level of accuracy
• True enjoyment of technology and the desire to contribute to a team’s output
• Basic knowledge in generating process documentation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical writing skills
• Must be able to commute to either the D.C. or Reston office depending on the location of the internship

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Rising senior strongly preferred
• Experience in eliciting requirements and testing preferred
• Experience in analyzing data to draw business-relevant conclusions and in data visualization techniques and tools preferred
• Experience writing SQL queries is a bonus
