About Houston
ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team
- Evaluate available offshore wind and other deepwater decarbonization technologies
- Address technology gaps for deepwater and power-to-platform applications
- Techno-economic evaluation of the technologies
- Develop path for technology maturity and deployment
- Engage across multiple organizations both internal and external contractors
- Involve cross discipline engagement with mechanical, facilities, electrical and marine
- Located at ExxonMobil Houston Campus
What you will do
- Scope out all the technologies being developed in the Floating Offshore Wind industry to evaluate how they can provide decarbonized power to offshore oil & gas operations and reduce emissions, while ensuring lower cost of supply. Understand commercial opportunities, and identify the challenges of up taking offshore wind technologies, including supply chain, cost barriers, execution risks, etc
About you
- Masters or PhD student in a field related to offshore wind energy, ocean engineering, or naval architecture
- Experience in one or more engineering aspects of offshore wind such as wind turbines, coupled aero-servo-hydro-elastic analysis, floaters, moorings, and cables
- Understanding of design and execution aspects of offshore systems
Preferred Knowledge / Skills / Experience
- Knowledge of offshore wind standards and design practice
- Awareness of the evolving landscape in floating wind industry
- Aptitude for economic evaluation of technologies
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders
