Summer Internship, Veterinary Services, Animal Health (Western College of Veterinary Medicine)

Location: Remote

As a Veterinary Summer Student Intern you will have an opportunity to work with various animal health professionals in a business, clinical and research environment. Moreover, this is a great way to gain exposure to our company's Animal Health business offerings, providing valuable learning opportunities and exposure for young professionals within the animal health industry.

In this role your project would consist of:

• Participation in a research project in partnership with a clinic or a farm
• Engagement with our company's project leader throughout the summer project
• On site collection of relevant samples
• Entering and analyzing data collected
• Preparing a report to be presented to our company's Animal Health and partner and/or a relevant local/provincial association in Saskatchewan (ex. WCASV)

Required field of study:

• Veterinary Medicine

Qualifications

• Interest in swine medicine
• Interest in population medicine
• Able to comply with biosecurity protocols and local public health requirements
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with team members and cross-functional teams
• Ability to work independently, with limited supervision
• Ability to learn and apply new information quickly
• Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.)
• Excellent communication skills (spoken and written)

Additional Qualifications:

• French both written and spoken if located in Quebec. English is required if located in Canadian provinces outside of Quebec.
• Must be a Full-time veterinary student at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine
• Must be available for the entire summer student mandate (May-August 2025)

En tant que stagiaire d'été en médecine vétérinaire, vous aurez l'occasion de travailler avec divers professionnels de la santé animale dans un environnement commercial, clinique et de recherche. De plus, c'est un excellent moyen de découvrir les offres commerciales de notre compagnie en Santé animale, offrant de précieuses opportunités d'apprentissage et de visibilité aux jeunes professionnels du secteur de la santé animale.

Dans ce rôle, votre projet consisterait à :

• Participation à un projet de recherche en partenariat avec une clinique ou une ferme
• Collaboration avec le chef de projet de notre compagnie tout au long du projet d'été
• Collecte sur place d'échantillons pertinents
• Saisie et analyse des données recueillies
• Préparation d'un rapport à présenter à Santé animale de notre compagnie et à son partenaire et/ou à une association locale/provinciale pertinente en Saskatchewan (p. ex. WCASV)

• Capacité de se conformer aux protocoles de biosécurité et aux exigences locales de santé publique
• Capacité d'établir et d'entretenir des relations de travail efficaces avec les membres de l'équipe et les équipes interfonctionnelles
• Capacité à travailler de manière autonome, avec une supervision limitée
• Capacité à apprendre et à appliquer rapidement de nouvelles informations
• Maîtrise de l'informatique (Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.)
• Excellentes compétences en communication (parlées et écrites)

• Compétences linguistiques : anglais (le français est un atout)

Compétences requises:

• Français tant à l'écrit qu'à l'oral si situé au Québec. L'anglais est requis si situé en Provinces canadiennes hors Québec.
• Étudiant(e) en médecine vétérinaire à temps plein au Western College of Veterinary Medicine
• Disponible du début mai à la fin août 2025
