Job Summary
The Suitability Review & New Business Support Supervisor leads a Suitability Review & New Business Support team engaged in the review of new applications and support functions of annuity and life products. This incumbent is responsible for engaging team members through coaching, timely feedback, career development, and empowerment. Demonstrates strong leadership and communication skills in working collaboratively with all internal and external customers to implement process improvements and enhance the customer experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Accountable for ensuring team and individual compliance with all applicable NAIC suitability, state and federal regulations, documentation and action, evaluations, and suitability recommendations, as well as F&G Life compliance procedures.
- Oversight of suitability review process, including oversight of support functions for annuity and life new business.
- Oversees daily team production, ensuring service level agreements are met each day as well as adherence to quality standards.
- Understands and effectively communicates procedures, contract or policy provisions, and industry/government regulations. Keeps teams informed of topics which affect them.
- Utilize business acumen and insights to drive decision making and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
- Responsible for hiring, development, performance of staff and career growth.
- Coaches, motivates, and empowers team members to drive high performance and engagement.
- Lead team meetings as well as 1:1 meetings with direct reports to foster an environment of trust, accountability, and open communication.
- Keeps internal teams, business partners and agents up to date on products and services, marketing programs, compliance regulations, and industry developments.
- Leads resolution of complex inquiries or escalated situations.
- Directs workflow and monitors workload to ensure customer inquiries are addressed promptly.
- Ensures team members apply a consistent approach when reviewing new applications and recommending as to whether an application should be approved or declined.
- Holds team members accountable to schedules, productivity and quality standards, and policies and procedures.
- Manages the employee life cycle and experience, including but not limited to, selection and retention of talent, continuous feedback and performance management, reward and recognition and corrective action.
Experience and Education Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Relevant experience considered in lieu of degree.
- 6+ years of experience working with a new business support management team, with at least 1+ years in a leadership capacity
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Solid understanding of annuity and insurance industry concepts
- Ability to proactively identify opportunities to serve the customer
- Effective and proven communication and information exchange skills
- Able to Identify opportunities to use innovative processes
- Strong talent management skills
- Able to identify, lead, and drive quantitative process improvement analyses as well as develop solutions in real time with practical, measurable business benefits
- Maintenance of industry regulatory knowledge
- Able to set and communicate departmental and organizational priorities to stakeholders
- Knowledge of project management principles
Other Requirements
- Perform other functions, duties and projects as assigned
- Regular and punctual attendance
- Some travel may be required
